It features a smooth-finished, warm-to-the-touch fiberglass shaft, and a nylon blade that delivers good power but won't trash your board's rails. The length adjustment offers 5 position options, each 10cm apart, and uses a double spring clip system to lock the handle section in at the required length. The parts are carefully machined so they fit together beautifully, and there is no wobble or significant loss of stiffness at the join, even when the paddle is at its longest extension.
Creating a decent 3 piece SUP paddle has traditionally been a big problem, as there is such a lot of stress on any joint between blade and shaft. However, our design - created in conjunction with the hugely experienced manufacturers - absolutely overcomes this problem. The extra reinforcing and ingenious fastening mechanism ensures the tightest and most reliable joint possible between the bottom of the shaft and the blade
The extra material involved in creating the adjustment system and the connection at the blade does make for a slightly heavier paddle, and there's potentially a fractional (although basically un-noticeable) loss of stiffness, especially if the paddle gets a lot of use at full extension length. Nevertheless, for the incredible versatility and convenience of being able to pack your paddle away into 3 pieces, this product just blows all the competition away.
